Day Walks in the Perth Area
Inspiration Outdoors runs some tours and activities on behalf of the Glyde-In, a community centre based in East Fremantle. These tours are open to anyone, not just Glyde-In members. Please contact the Glyde-In to book. Call 9339 3964 or email admin@glydein.org.au.
THOMSON’S LAKE WALK
Wed May 23 9.00am – 12:00pm
The system of inter-connected lakes in the Bibra Lake and Yangebup area is of international importance due to the abundance of migratory birds. It is also an area that has been important for Aboriginal people for many thousands of years. Come and learn about this fascinating area whilst getting the heart rate up and chatting with friends. This is a 9km walk that is relatively flat and achievable for most levels of fitness.
Meet: Thomson's Lake Reserve car park on Russell Rd. Approximately 700 metres past Pearce Rd if you’re heading east.
What to bring/wear: Walking shoes or boots, rain gear, water (1 litre). Morning tea is provided. Feel free to bring a sandwich and have a picnic lunch afterwards – we will unless it’s raining!

PARUNA SANCTUARY – NUMBAT TRAIL
Saturday 9 June 9.30am – 4.30pm
Paruna Wildlife Sanctuary, in the Avon Valley, offers a number of spectacular walking trails through pristine bushland. The Numbat track is Paruna’s longest walk trail. It is a solid day walk that provides a wonderful challenge to fit walkers, and will reward you with a wide variety of beautiful natural features from creek lines and waterfalls to granite outcrops and open powderbark forest. The trail is 12 km long with lots of ups and downs. A good level of walk-fitness is required.
Meet: Vehicle entrance gate to Paruna Wildlife Sanctuary, on Avon Rd – see map. Simon and Emily will meet cars at the gate and direct them to the parking area and pedestrian gate.
What to bring/wear: Walking shoes or boots, rain gear, lunch, water (2 litres, and have some in your car for afterwards). Morning tea is provided.
Other info: There is a toilet at the entrance.
