Your car will be waiting for you at the end of the days walk so you can walk at your own pace during the day and at the end of the walk, drive yourself out to a winery to relax and enjoy the afternoon; have an early dinner at the many eateries; head back to accommodation to freshen up before heading out etc. This will give you a lot of flexibility to explore the region.
